During our Thanksgiving Basket Drive people bring donations throughout November to help us fill 4,000 Thanksgiving bags.
On Sat Nov 23 & Sun Nov 24 donations continue to pour in but we also start our distribution. This year we are asking donors to drop off their donations at our exterior Food Pantry doors on Waubesa Street. Our traffic coordinators will direct donors to you. Donation Receiving Volunteers greet donors, help them unload their donations. Volunteers will sort out and bring Thanksgiving related items to the gym and non-Thanksgiving items to the pantry.
Volunteers will be lifting, carrying, and sorting donations throughout the shifts while working under our tent on Waubesa Street or in the pantry.
What you bring:
- Ability to lift, carry and sort heavy items
- Ability to take direction and work with others
- The shift will be inside and outside throughout the shift.
Please check in for your shift in the gym and we'll get you connected with the volunteer lead at the receiving location.
We'd like to share these shifts with as many volunteers as possible so please limit yourself to 2 shifts total.
