Volunteer: Help as a START Literacy Program Tutor Spring 2026Learn how to teach elementary-age youth to read as a trained tutor. Goodman Community Center is offering a tutoring program that teams adult tutors with elementary youth. Teams of adults and youth will work to improve the young person‘s reading skills, with support from our Goodman Literacy Specialist. This program runs for a total of 13 weeks, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3-5pm. Spring semester runs January 27- April 30th, 2026. We’re looking for new volunteers to join our team so we can continue providing the best possible service to our community. We offer a variety of shifts — some focused on stocking shelves and organizing donations, and others that involve supporting customers while they shop. Please review the available shifts below and respond if there is one that works for you (Volunteers should be available mostly on a weekly basis). You will be contacted to set up a time for an initial meeting. If you end up being on the waitlist, we will keep you in mind for the future.
