Help us aid families through our Thanksgiving basket drive pick up process. Every year the Goodman Center gives away 4,000 baskets containing all the fixings to make a complete meal.
Bilingual Spanish/English Special Assistance volunteers answer questions for people who aren't registered or who forgot their registration information. We find a way to help all families who seek a basket and need your help explaining the process to them. Families remain in their cars throughout the process and our volunteers greet them at their cars.
What you bring:
- Comfortable with excel spreadsheets and searches
- Ability to explain instructions, next steps and answer questions (Bilingual English/Spanish skillset required)
- Be courteous, friendly and reassuring
- Willing to work outside under a tent and at cars for most of your shift
Sign up Details:
- Please ensure you are available for the entire shift. Shifts can not be split or shortened.
- Teams of volunteers are welcome so please sign up as a team even if you are just two people.
- On street parking is available around the center. No space will be available in the Goodman lot due to the massive Thanksgiving drive.
