Join the dynamic team in our Program Food kitchen at Ironworks and support our Meals on Wheels program from Monday - Friday.
Our Program Kitchen is providing hot homecooked lunches to between 200 - 300 seniors and other vulnerable adults living in the greater Madison area through the Meals on Wheels program. The kitchen staff prepare the hot and cold components of the meals daily and our volunteer help with packaging everything up to be delivered to people's doorsteps. We focus on providing healthy and nutritious meals which follow meal requirements for seniors.
Volunteer responsibilities split by time of day:
Mornings 9:15 - 11:30 am - vacuum seal individual packages of hot food and organize for area deliveries
Afternoons 2 - 4:00 pm - fill individual containers with fruit, desserts, sauces and arrange them into individual bags for next day delivery
